Art Gene, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria

A two week collaborative residency based on a community allotement space in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria with artist led organisation Art Gene. The residency coincided with COP26, (the UN Climate Change Conference hosted in Glasgow) working in collaboration with artists Owen Griffiths, Rhine Bernardino, Dana Olarescu and residents of Barrow to investigate, create and explore how creativity can affect meaningful and urgent change in how we use and relate to our climate.

New works, actions and connections were created throughout the two weeks and culminated in a long day of climate conversations, food, fermentation, compost, cooking demos, soup, coffee, hotpot, cake, art and actions. All outside, all for free, open to all, under a beautiful Barrow in Furness sky.
