A WORLD WE CAN LIVE IN

Towner Gallery, Eastbourne
July - August 2024

Supported by the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme, Towner hosted six open and four SEN (Special Educational Needs) sessions across the six-week summer break, inviting over 180children and young people eligible for Free School Meals to take over our studio spaces. A focus on creating positive interactions rather than individual artworks, particpants created an ever growing room of creations informed by the questions:
A World We Can Live In..
What would it look like?
Who or what would live there?
What would grow there?
What would we eat?
Who would we invite into a world of our creation?

Over the penultimate weekend participants invited the public to view and add to their collective studio practice and create their own world.
